Peugeot 3008 – Peugeot’s First Hybrid – Unveiled At Geneva Motor Show

Peugeot has officially unveiled its first ever hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show, the Peugeot 3008 MPV.

Based on the Peugeot 308, the regular 3008 will be available in both front and all-wheel-drive guises when it hits European showrooms in late 2009.  The hybrid version will join the range a year later as a 2011 model.

The hybrid powertrain of the Peugeot 3008 is a 121kW (163hp) 2.0 litre HDi four-cylinder, mated to a 27kW (37hp) electric motor.

Peugeot promises a fuel economy for the hybrid of 4.1 l/100km, with CO2 emissions down to 109g/km.

The petrol and diesel range in the ‘regular’ 3008 will feature six options in total, including a smaller 89kW 1.6 litre petrol motor and the same 121kW 2.0 litre that is to appear in the hybrid.

The Peugeot 3008 is expected to compete in the European market with the Seat Altea Freetrack and the Volkswagen Touran.

We covered the Peugeot 3008 in greater detail last month.
