Opel first offered the world a glimpse of its version of the Chevrolet Volt back in late January, and now the first official image of the Opel Ampera is online.
Going by this one image, it looks as though the main difference between the two cars will be the unique Opel face.
Two deep, vertical gouges streak down the front bumper beneath the standard Chevy Volt headlights, while a wide open intake (functional? aesthetic?) sits beneath a more traditional Opel grille.
It seems the only other difference between the two hybrids will be the significantly larger and re-styled rims filling out the Ampera’s wheel wells.
Now that we’ve seen both, the question becomes: Which looks best?

I’d go with the Opel Ampera any day, as long as it’ll look like the above photos. The transition of Volt’s concept car to production car was disappointing to say the least.
the volt looks better
I like the look of the Opel better. The front of the Chev/Holden has that typical American ‘Slab’ look. Still, they both look relatively good (in comparison to the Prius for instance).
The faces are a choice between Alice Cooper or Forest Gump.
Cooper all the time.
