Following on from our post last week featuring a single part-silhouette image of the 2010 Kia Sorento XM, Kia has released a pair of illustrations to give us a better idea of what to expect when the car is unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show in April.

Designed by former Volkswagen designer Peter Schreyer – responsible for the first-gen Audi TT – the Sorento XM shares more than a few familial styling features with the new Kia Cerato, as well as the Kia No 3 Concept, revealed earlier today.

Little in the way of new technical information has been made available, but it’s believed the 2010 Kia Sorento will be built on a monocoque (also known as a unibody) platform.

Power for the Korean-market Sorento is expected to be delivered via a 2.4 litre Theta II petrol engine, a 2.7 litre petrol engine, or a new 147kW (197bhp) 2.2 litre turbo-diesel ‘R’ engine, with a fuel economy of 14.1 l/100km.

The US-delivered version – and probably Australia as well – will supposedly feature either the 2.4 litre four-cylinder engine, or the 3.8 litre Lambda V6 found in the Hyundai Genesis.
