With a pretty good track record for concepts up its sleeve, Kia is set to unveil its latest effort at the Geneva Motor Show: The Kia No 3. Whether that’s literally the word ‘no’ or the abbreviation of ‘number’, we can’t tell you.

In fact, there’s not much we can tell you about the No 3, as Kia is remaining tight-lipped about this snappy little er… number.

By the looks of it, the No 3 is based on the c’eed platform, and with its ‘matt Titanium Grey’ finish and large polished alloy wheels, is certainly an intriguing looking unit.

The face of the No 3, despite the car’s size, is all power and style.

Sharing with the new Kia Cerato/Forte what is obviously the new Kia family grille, Kia’s newest concept features aggressively raked headlights extending up to the windscreen.

The front bumper hangs low for a purposeful race look, where a big central air dam is flanked either side by slit-like fog lights.

While it’s obscured in the front-on photo, the birds-eye shot shows off what is probably the No 3’s wildcard: a unique, diagonal windscreen that reaches up to a crossbar extending from the A-pillar on the driver’s side to the B-pillar on the passenger’s.

Flowing back from behind this odd arrangement is a panoramic glass roof, through which we can see some funky seating pulled directly from Star Trek The Original Series.

One doesn’t normally think of a concept car’s length as being a focal point, but with little else to tell you about the No 3, here we go: 4044mm.

Also expected to drop at the Geneva Motor Show are a pair of new c’eed models.

The Kia cee’d ISG (Idle Stop & Go) offers up to 15 percent improved fuel consumption through its ability to turn the engine off while the car is stopped and then restart instantly when the driver touches the accelerator.

Available with a choice of 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre petrol engines, the Kia c’eed ISG features three body styles – five-door hatchback, five-door wagon, and three-door pro_cee’d.

The 1.4 litre ISG models at Geneva have a 137g/km CO2 rating.

The Kia cee’d Hybrid is part of a fleet of Kia hybrids developed for testing and evaluation in Europe.

The cee’d Hybrid utilises an upgraded powertrain with Kia’s Gamma 1.6 litre petrol engine mated to a 15kW, 105Nm AC synchronised electric motor, a CVT transmisson and the new ISG system.

Kia has tested the cee’d Hybrid, with a 0-100km/h sprint coming down in 11.8 seconds, and a top speed of 185km/h.

The prototype achieves fuel consumption of 4.81 l/100km and a CO2 figure of 109g/km – down 25 percent compared to the standard 1.6 litre petrol cee’d.
