HKS is now offering a street-legal version of its GT570 Racing Package, which has been very aptly named the GT570 Sport Package.

With HKS’s new power kit, you can forget worrying about emissions tests and be safe in the knowledge that the ‘fun police’ will have little to say if when you get pulled over. Best of all, power is almost identical to the racing package.

The biggest difference between the Racing and Sport packages is in the inclusion of HKS Stainless Metal Catalyser Mid-pipes, measuring 75mm x 2 into 80mm x 1. In addition to this, buyers will receive the following go fast goodies:

• HKS Aluminium Intercooler Piping
• HKS EVC Electronic Boost Controller
• HKS Super SQV Blow Off Valves with Piping Kit
• HKS Upgraded Turbo Wastegate Actuators
• HKS Super Fire Racing M45HL Spark Plugs

The GT570 Sport Package is suitable for both series I and II cars and is priced around the 913,500 yen mark (a touch under AUD $15,000) . The cost of achieving street-legal status equates to an increase of a little more than 300,000 yen (around AUD $4900) over the GT570 Race Package.

It’s a big jump up, but it might be a small price to pay given the issues -  and substantial fines - which can arise from emissions-related offences.
