Although Toyota’s newly-minted president Akio Toyoda assures us it is not far away, we’re still not exactly sure when we’ll see Lexus’ scorching LF-A supercar hit the showrooms.

However, to prove that it hasn’t completely forgotten about the lightning-quick Lexo, Toyota has collaborated with renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto to create its centrepiece for the upcoming Milan Design Week event - a life-size, totally transparent sculpture of an LF-A coupe.

It sure looks fragile, but we’re told it’s made out of virtually unbreakable clear acrylic. Fujimoto has also crafted a range of “accessories, gadgets and styling products” out of the same material to complement the LF-A sculpture, although specifics on what these doo-dads may be are practically non-existent.

The LF-A certainly looks purty in see-through form, and it’s almost a pity we won’t be able to lay eyes on it in person. Those that will be in/around Milan between April 22 - 26 can check it out for themselves however, with Fujimoto’s “crystallised wind” installation going on display at the Museo Della Permanente between those dates.
