Hyundai Equus: More Pics Surface

2010 Hyundai Equus

In case you couldn’t tell, we’re pretty fond of the Hyundai Equus here at TMR. Sure, we’re not likely to see it come Downunder in the short term, but as can be clearly evidenced from these official images, there’s something undeniably cool and desirable about Hyundai’s soon-to-be-released Korean-market flagship.

It’s big, it’s buff and most importantly, it’ll come with a stonkin’ V8 engine driving the rear wheels. But perhaps one of the coolest aspects of the Equus is that it’ll be the first Korean car capable of mixing it with its snooty European cousins.

As these recently-released official pics (and a couple of real-life shots) show, the big Hyundai is one handsome looking car, and one that’s got all the right luxury-car DNA.

Sharp creases, lashings of chrome, a spacious boot and a massive rear door opening all cement the Equus’ status as a high-rolling luxo limo. In these images it appears to work, with styling a mix of equal parts S-Class and Lexus LS.

It might be a tad unoriginal, but it looks freakin’ tough. If there’s a Korean mafia, we bet they’ll be cruising around in these things as soon as they hit the showrooms. We want it. And we want it bad.

The front seems to remind me of a newish Toyota Crown or those types of JDM VIP cars.
