Nissan's luxury arm Infiniti has released the first teaser image of its latest concept car, a vehicle that the prestige automaker says will showcase "the essence of its brand" when it debuts at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

There's not much to say at this point, other than we think we're looking at the car's C-pillar. It's unusual, to say the least, and we've yet to decide whether the reverse-Hofmeister kink is a good or a bad thing. Suffice to say, Infiniti's concept is bound to be a head-turner regardless.

Current speculation pegs the Essence as being either a replacement for the G37 Coupe, a larger two-door coupe that'll sit above the G37, the new M midsize sedan, the much-anticipated replacement for the Q45 large sedan or even a fire-spitting, GT-R-based, M5 eatin' performance model.

We can't discount any of those rumours at the moment (although the absence of a rear door shutline suggests it'll be a two-door), so it appears we'll have to 'wait and see' what rocks up to Geneva on March 3. Stay tuned.
