Rolls-Royce has taken the wraps off its updated 2009 model Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase as it looks to continue the success of the 2008 model.

Changes are admittedly minimal, but any extra gear is surely appreciated when you’re dropping over half a million Aussie dollars to get one.

The most notable addition is the same front-end treatment as seen on the Phantom Drophead Coupe and Phantom Coupe - consisting of a more streamlined bumper and a shallower stainless -steel grille. LED door-handle illumination and 21-inch cast aluminium wheels round out the exterior changes.

Inside the sumptuous cabin, rear occupants now get RCA component input for audio and video connectivity to the 12-inch monitors mounted within the fold-down ‘picnic tables’.

Front and rear door capping now includes integrated grab-handles while new bi-directional reading lights in the C-pillars provide additional illumination. Lastly, a repositioned wood-veneer panel provides easy access to climate, audio and electric window controls.

Production of the 2009 model will commence at Goodwood in the spring. (Give your driver chappie fair warning.)
