Citroen Unveils Refreshed Logo To Celebrate 90th Birthday

It looks like smooth curves are the new sharp angles, as Citroen unveils a rounded version of its famous chevron badge to coincide with the company’s 90th birthday.

Embracing a softer, more modern, three-dimensional and metallic styling more inline with its peers, the revised Citroen identity is both fresh and – perhaps most importantly – a necessary boost to its image as a modern carmaker.

A smoother, more unique typeface accompanies the chevrons, replacing the hard-edged font of the previous identity.

Citroen’s new identity comes as the company attempts to re-invent its image, including reviving the ‘DS’ badge on its upcoming model lines.

I do like the new chevrons (raised 3D look), very fresh indeed.
But won't this translate to more costs when you want to use this on merchandising? (i.e. embossed diaries/journals, logos on shirts, toys, etc)
Or am I behind the times with printing technologies?

It does have that feel of modernism, technology and luxe to it though.
Sure will go down well with the car's recent styling direction of blending the chevrons into the cars' grill designs.
Now if only they can prove to the masses that their cars aren't real Citro(e)ns (Lemons) in real life ...

The Citroen type however, is trying too hard to be modern and quirky ... very French in ambition, but French in execution too I am afraid.

I don't like these one bit. I do not like them, Sam I am.

The old ones were timeless and integrated into the grille so well, whether as an emblem or in the actual shape of the fascia. These remind me of the nose makeup on a lesser Star Trek alien race.

Logo looks alright (never a fan of 3d logos though), but like Andy said that font is trying too hard! Definitely won't stand the test of time like the old one has.
