2009 Mazda3, MX-5 Coming To MIMS

2009 Mazda3 SP25

Mazda has announced that its all-new Mazda3 and facelifted MX-5 roadster will be gracing the floor at the 2009 Melbourne International Motor Show later this month, their first public appearance in Australia.

A Mazda3 Maxx Sport sedan and Mazda3 SP25 hatch will be on display at Mazda’s stand, with Mazda Managing Director Doug Dickson describing the company’s new small car as being a “worthy successor” to the outgoing model.

The revamped 2009 MX-5 will also be a welcome addition to the local Mazda lineup, with slightly more power, a more refined gearbox and a fresher face being the major changes for 2009.

Mazda has yet to release any pricing information for either car, however we have it on good authority that the MX-5 will launch in mid-March with the 3 also arriving around that time. TMR will be on hand at MIMS to check out the new 3 and MX-5 - and more - on February 27, so we’ll have more info for you then.
