Word on the street is that Maserati will be giving the shapely GranTurismo coupe the same treatment afforded to its recently-unveiled Quattroporte GT S, and that the Italian marque will also release an all-new convertible early next year.

The forthcoming GranTurismo GT S will receive the Quattroporte GT S's 323kW engine, automatic gearbox and a lower, stiffer sports suspension, placing it firmly at the top of the Maserati food chain. A release date has yet to be announced, but British website What Car? says it'll launch "later in the year".

An all new Spyder is also reportedly in the works, and will share the GranTurismo's chassis, engines and drivetrain. It'll also boast a larger and more capacious cabin than its predecessor too, with room for four with the top down. ETA for the Spyder is sometime in early 2010, but What Car? says it may make an appearance at this year's Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

    I actually love this car,

and the white example with the charcoal wheels gets my vote.

It has been a while since Maserati has produced a decent car or one that looks remotely attractive.
