Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang - sold out in less than 24 hours

Bugatti’s latest version of their all-conquering Veyron supercar has sold out in less than 24 hours. Called the “Pur Sang” it is the regular Veyron stripped of paint and I have to say that it looks better without the colour.

Bugatti’s designers are rightly proud of the technical beauty inherent in the design of their Veyron and were eager to show it off. Rather than cover the various aluminium and carbon fibre body panels in the usual two-tone paint-work Bugatti left the raw surfaces exposed.

“When some of our designers were looking at production and once again became aware of the technical beauty of the structure. They came up with the idea of finishing the car in its pure material configuration. And that means without a coating of paint”, says Achim Anscheidt, Head of Bugatti Design

The result is a ‘natural’ two tone finish in aluminium and carbon fibre that saves around 100kgs/220lbs over a painted Veyron. Unveiled briefly at Frankfurt the Veyron “Pur Sang” will be produced in a limited run of only five and features a sticker price (before taxes and on-roads) of €1.4 million / AUD 2.3 million.

Paying more for less did nothing to deter five cashed up individuals from placing a deposit on a Pur Sang.
