Hyundai Genesis interior - first pictures

We’ve all seen the Hyundai Genesis from the outside but pictures of the interior have been as rare as an honest politician – in other words non-existent – until now. Thanks to one of the members over at Hyundai Exchange the following four images have found their way onto the net.

We are not expecting to see the Hyundai Genesis and its rear-wheel drive V8 platform in Australia – but our North American readers will become used to seeing them on their roads over the coming years.

The interior shown is said to belong to a Korean market version of the Genesis so it may not be fully representative of what the American market will see. Expect a little less faux wood across the face of the dashboard and a revised steering wheel – hopefully.

Features include an electronic parking brake (on the dash to the left of the steering wheel) as well as a keyless-start button that is likely to utilize a remote-key. There is also a centre console mounted ‘twist and turn’ navigation system control, reminiscent of BMW’s oft criticized i-drive.

An Audi interior it isn’t but the Carupdate jury will be out until a less woody North American spec interior is snapped.

I don't see any indicator here of Quality any higher than what can be found in a Buick. Quite frankly, with 300 hp from Cadillac's CTS V6, this vehicle

DOES NOT REPRESENT SIGNIFIGANT ENOUGH VALUE IN THE MARKETPLACE!

yeah its not the genesis its the equus. cause the symbol on the steering wheel are those tall wing stuff and when I go to korea I always see cars with that symbol and on the back it says equus. so yeah its not genesis

this could quite possibly be the genesis. Even though john indicated that this says "Equsus" in korean the hyundai azera is sold as the "granduer" over there so the American product is likely to have a different name. And Phil the quality of this car looks exceptional, and by the way, Buick stinks

I just drove the 4.6 v8 & i must say that it's amazing. I currently have an e350 merc, and i love it to death, but the hyundai is definitley on top of my list once my lease is up. I was getting on the freeway flooring it & A) got to 100mph ridiculously fast & B) didnt even realize i was doing 100 til the salesmen asked me to slow down. Brilliantly smooth engine, and the fact that it takes "low" grade gas makes it that much better. also, they have this package where they replace all the hyundai emblems with "Genesis" emblems, with wings & all... great marketing ploy in my opinion. Not only does it remove the stigma of a Hyundai for the ignorant, but it looks classier than the italicized "H" anyway. My only serious problem with this car was the damned power steering. It randomly changes how much assistance it gives you, so mid turn the the wheel goes from fingertip light to minicooper heavy. VERY annoying. Living in a beach town i would find that more than irritating coming over the canyon twice a day. However, while just cruising the steering is great, and regardless of the steering, the engine is silky-smooth, and though the suspension is soft & dull the car still handles great and has little roll. Also, the wood trim is, well... very asian. Except for flagship lexus', most asian cars' wood trim looks fake or cheap. The genesis definitely follows suit. It doesnt bother me much, but it will some. My other problem, which is easily fixed, is the front grill. I realize that the entire style of the car is very generic and "playing it safe" to get the most buyers possible, but the only thing that makes a statement on this car is the grill, and that statement is "holy hell i've just been beaten with an ugly stick!" Its hideous. Period. Though anything more generic would make it boring, this just looks like an angry insect. Petty, but still an issue. All in all, for a car that is 42thou when fully loaded & is perfectly equivalent to a bimmer or benz costing 72+thou, it's a great car, and a great first try. Also, for 1/2 the price, the steering, wood, and grill are more than made up for. I love this car.
