Videos from the 80s: The best thing to happen to the internets, or a sad reminder of an era we’ll never truly escape? This time around, the answer can only be the former, because what we’re looking at here is Michael Jackson… promoting a Suzuki scooter for the Japanese market.

Not just any scooter, mind you. No, this is the Suzuki Love 50. And "love", as Jacko will tell you (with some sort of audio dubbing over his weird mouth movements and an odd impression of a wink) is the message.

The Suzuki Love 50 was introduced in 1982. Powered by a 4-stroke 50cc engine and smaller than the average scooter, the Love 50 was targeted specifically at the lagging female market. It even had an automatic transmission – amazing for its time.

Why they have Michael Jackson promoting a ladies’ scooter, I couldn’t tell you.
