Thankfully some companies are able to report a little bit of good news for their end-of-year figures for 2008. Suzuki Motor Corporation is one of them and has achieved a record global production result for the 2008 calendar year with 2,623,788 units.

Production in factories outside of Japan stood at 1,405,553 units, up two percent on 2007’s results. Japanese plants accounted for 1,218,235 vehicles, closely matching 2007 results.

Suzuki sold 679,215 vehicles in Japan, up 0.4 percent over the previous year. Suzuki’s best selling vehicle is the Wagon R which dominates its Kei-car class with a 31.6 percent market share, up one percent on 2007.
