Hyundai Genesis Coupe Epic Lap Commercial For The 2009 Superbowl

While we wait for word on whether we can expect to see the Genesis Coupe in Australian showrooms, Hyundai’s US arm is gearing up for the car’s official release at American dealerships.  That moment is this weekend, when Hyundai will air a 30 second commercial (at about US$2 million for the privilege) showing drifting superstar Rhys Millen throwing a yellow example around a closed circuit.

But wait, why wait until Sunday?  And for those of us not in the US, why wait for someone to chuck a shoddy handycam recording up on the interwebs?  The time is now, folks.  Thanks to wreckedmagazine.com, Sunday’s commercial is right here for you to watch.

Punctuated with cut scenes of the video editing process and some nifty on-screen text following the car, Hyundai’s new hero car cuts a dashing figure. If it proves to be a solid unit – and if this video is anything to go by - it may just become something of a legend.

You’d never be able to air that TVC here. The PC brigade would be up un arms about the ‘irresponsible’ driving.

The car marks a huge turnaround for Hyundai though…
