BMW-Sauber has revealed its contender to the 2009 F1 series. Seems we're seeing a trend in the naming of these things, it's called the F1.09.

Keen-eyed F1 fans may notice the lack of sponsor decals from Credit Suisse and Dell. Intel's decal has also been moved from its previous location on the engine cover, which is now blank, to the rear-wing end-plates.


Team boss Mario Theissen commented on the sponsorship changes and the teams financial standing, putting on a brave face for what will likely be a challenging year for all F1 teams:

"Since 2005 we gained the most (sponsor) contracts, so it is no surprise that some are not with us now. The budget for 2009 is secure and we are already planning for 2010," he said.

Driver lineup for '09 is unchanged with Robert Kubica, Nick Heidfeld and third wheel-man Christian Klien noted on the roster.


The highly publicised Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) is apparently lurking beneath the body work but Theissen was unsure if the new tech would be ready for the Melbourne Grand Prix.

With new cars and new technology on board, the 2009 F1 series has the potential to recapture some of the magic some feel has been lost in recent years. As long as the racing is competitive, rather than repetitive, we'll be glued to our sets.
