Okay, while that RB26-powered 2000GT replica was one stunningly presented machine, here’s a glimpse at the opposite end of the scale.
A product of the Nihon Automotive Technical School (NATS), this R35 GT-R bodied Suzuki Cappuccino was exhibited at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon and proves that the term “bespoke” isn’t always a good thing.

The bodywork is completely custom, but no matter how much fibreglass NATS threw at the ‘GT-K’, nothing could stop the final result from looking so… rubbish. The GT-R’s stongly scultpted lines and muscular styling don’t lend themselves quite so well to such a small platform, and NATS’s slab-sided take on a pint-sized R35 is - plainly and simply - pretty damn ugly.

Boasting the same 657cc three-pot as the standard Cappuccino, it’s probably rather slow as well. A bigger turbo and an upgraded intercooler have been applied, but we doubt such tuning is enough to compensate for the kilos of fibreglass that’ve been heaped upon this poor lil’ Suzuki.
Coilovers and larger brakes supposedly improve handling, but we’d be willing to wager that those horrible chrome 18-inch rims don’t.
But that doesn’t mean Cappuccino rebodies can’t be done. Remember the Baby Cobra? That thing looked totally boss, and it proves that in the case of the NATS GT-K, it’s not the car’s fault that it looks this bad. Back to the drawing board, NATS…

Kill it with fire.
I will help you Charlie!
Also the standard Cappuccino is not as slow as what people may think! It is on par with a SSS Pulsar in terms of Straightline speed and then being turbo you start add things such as an intercooler, up the boost to say 16psi (standard cut off is 16.4psi) re-place the ecu say with a aftermarket such as a Motec, Haltech or Adaptronic and advance the timing should give you roughly 70rwkw in a car that weighs 720kg should be good power to weight ratio.
But enough with the rambling my god that is the worse! I just wish people would stop posting that post up! Yes i respect the amount of work gone in to it but nice way to spoil the coffe bean lines of the Cappuccino just as bad as the american putting GTR bodykits on there civic and accords.
HAHAHAHAHA That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.
A MoTeC is a pretty expensive piece of kit.
Your average Cappa owner must be rolling in cash if it’s an ECU you’d consider off the bat.
