Toyota Australia has announced the availability of Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC) across the full Corolla range.
Starting today VSC and TRC are standard on Corolla Conquest hatch and sedan, Levin ZR hatch and Ultima sedan, all at no additional cost.
“The VSC system for our 1.8-litre Corolla required special calibration for the unique engine/road surface combination in Australia,” said senior executive director sales and marketing David Buttner.
Other models in the Corolla range, such as the Corolla Ascent hatch and sedan, and Levin SX hatch can be optioned with VSC and TRC for a cost of $1500.
Even better news is that Toyota is packaging the VSC and TRC with a handful of additional airbags, including front-side and full curtain shield airbags, as well as one for the driver’s knee.
The addition of the ‘safety pack’ to Australia’s second most in-demand vehicle in 2008, will no-doubt add to the attraction of the Corolla for buyers shopping in this market segment.

About time Toyota followed most other makes and added Vehicle Stability Control to the list of options. Honda should pay attention. The Lancer has it standard across the range.
I can’t believe some new cars are still sold without ABS.
