Maserati feature at Goodwood Revival

To the average Australian the UK is probably best known as a bloody cold place full of people with bad teeth. I haven’t been there so I can’t really comment but one thing they do have an abundance of is quality motoring events.

We recently featured cars from the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Brits have been at it again, holding the Goodwood Revival over the weekend just gone.

Described as a preeminent classic motorsport event, the Goodwood Revival attracted a gathering of 116,000 motorsport fans and this year, Maserati turned on a bit of show.

There were twenty three classic Maseratis in attendance, including a 1959 Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61, owned and driven by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. Stirling Moss was also on hand and was reunited with the very Maserati 300S that he raced in the 1950s.

Historic Maserati racing cars on display included the Maserati 4CMs and five examples of arguably the worlds most desirable Formula One car, the Maserati 250F.

The modern Maserati display featured two Maserati Quattroportes, in both Sport GT and Executive GT incarnations as well as the gorgeous new GranTurismo. Sounds like a thoroughly magnifico weekend!
