The stylish Alfa Romeo Brera based Spider has just been released in Europe with a high tech 150Kw (200hp) 2.4-litre JTDM engine which is a diesel, I might add. Now there is more novelty factor to this car then ever before, for instance - you get one of the sexiest Italian designed bodies available today, you get a convertible roof, you get an average of 6.8 litres per 100km and you get a brand new 2.4-litre 20v diesel engine that produces the least amount of emissions possible for an engine of its kind.

Developed in conjunction with Fiat, the JTDM motor incorporates a Multijet diesel delivery system that assists it in exceeding the current Euro 4 emission limits. Along with a DPF particle trap for collecting finer carbon dust it also exceeds the legislation proposed for Euro 5 vehicle emission standards expected to come into effect in 2010.

The Alfa Spider Exclusive 2.4 JTDM is on sale in Italy for 41,800 Euros or just under $AU70,000 and you guessed it, we would be very surprised to see it down under.
