Vauxhall announce supercharger kit for VXR8

As they did with the previous Monaro VXR, the folks at Vauxhall in the UK will be adding a supercharger option to the VXR8 menu next month. The supercharger kit is expected to increase the standard 6.0-litre LS2 Chev’s output from 307kW/412hp to a whopping 402kW/540hp.

We all know that the Vauxhall VXR8 is really our HSV E-Series Clubsport which means in standard trim it is capable of a claimed 4.9 seconds 0-100km/h time. Given that this time is rarely/never achieved by the motoring press and low fives are considered more realistic, the supercharged VXR8 should be able to achieve the official factory 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds and possibly even improve on it. Vauxhall haven’t release any performance figures at this stage.

The kit can be fitted to a second hand VXR8 or ordered with your brand new VXR8. Whichever way you go the price of supercar performance in a Vauxhall is £6995 or a cool AUD17,000. Even with a three year warranty that’s one pricey supercharger kit.
