Jaguar XFR Images Drop Ahead Of Detroit Show

The above image and its friends weren’t supposed to be revealed until the Detroit Motor Show, but thanks to some cheeky sods elsewhere on the interwebs, we can now bring you these first official images of the 2010 Jaguar XFR.

Spotted more or less in its final production spec at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year, these images don’t reveal anything we haven’t seen – but they are nice to look at.

Jaguar is aiming the XFR squarely at the high performance luxury sedan market, and with its supercharged 5.0 litre version of Jaguar’s AJV8 engine producing 380kW and 623Nm of torque, it’s on the right track. If the weight is anywhere near the regular XF’s 1821kg, we can expect a 0-100kmh time of roughly 4-4.5 seconds and a 12-13 second sprint to 400 metres.

Externally, the XFR features a number of visual and aero enhancements over the regular model, with big open chrome-trimmed and meshed intakes dominating the face of the super saloon, and subtle vents flanking the aggressive bulge down the centre of the bonnet. Classy 20-inch seven-spoke rims fill out the wheel arches, sitting in front of similarly huge brake rotors and R-emblazoned calipers.  A new rear bumper and lip spoiler on the rear deck round out the back end.

The interior sees new shadow aluminium trim, sports seats with embroidered R logos, and the requisite sports steering wheel.

The XFR will be available in eight colours: Botanical Green, Indigo, Kyanite Blue, Liquid Silver, Lunar Grey, Porcelain, and Salsa.

Stay tuned for more info as the car is unveiled at Detroit.
