While official figures won’t be released until Lamborghini’s appearance at Detroit in January, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has confirmed that it will deliver another set of record sales and profit results.

Lamborghini has not been effected by the slowing global economy, explaining that its enviable position has been achieved through tight management of volumes and a strict policy of maintaining a healthy order book.

Lamborghini’s highly attractive product lineup is only part of the story. Much effort has gone into ensuring a new model comes to market each year and heavy focus has been placed on maximising the potential of new dealerships through careful planning and increased market penetration.

This careful management has resulted in Lamborghini’s fourth straight year of record performance in terms of turnover, profit and volumes. These figures, coupled with a double-digit profit margin, marks one the automotive industry’s more successful turn-arounds in recent years.

Lamborghini said that, despite growing global economic concerns, it will not deviate from its long-term plan. Research and development will continue as scheduled and efforts will be maintained to ensure a new product is launched each year. While 2009 is set to be a shaky one for many manufacturers, Lamborghini, at least, will give us all something to look forward to.
