UPDATE 22/12/2008 JohnTurbo has once again raised the bar having bested his previous time of 10.55-seconds, The new record to beat is now set at 10.53-seconds. The bad news is that after thirty 10-second passes and over 100 launches, the R35’s transmission has finally packed it in. John and the team are now waiting on a strengthened gear-set from PPG to get the GT-R back on the strip. Thanks for the tip Kris!

NAGTROC forum member JohnTurbo is at it again, lopping a further three-tenths off his previous quarter mile record. The newest time? A blistering 10.55 seconds with a terminal velocity of 128.42mph (205km/h).

JohnTurbo also managed to put down a very impressive 1.496-second 60ft time and achieved his new record by making minor adjustments to the car’s boost settings and by using 100 octane fuel. Check the original article for full details on the car’s modifications.

We’re hoping JohnTurbo and his team keep at it because we can’t wait for a 9-second pass. For now though, this is as good as it gets, so be sure to check out the video below.
