Aston Martin Offering More Power For 4.3L Vantage

Aston Martin’s 2009 V8 Vantage comes equipped with more power than the original model thanks to an upgraded 4.7 litre engine. But owners of the 4.3 litre-equipped model can now get in on some of the ‘missing’ action. Aston is offering a power upgrade for the 4.3 litre Vantage that will add an extra 15kWs of power and 10Nms of torque.

There will also be a “Sports Pack” available which will further improve performance.

The increase in power is provided by revisions to the induction system and a recalibration of the engine management, optimising ignition timing and allowing for higher octane fuels. The induction system is the same used on the DBS supercar and uses a switching airbox-valve setup to allow more air into the engine when engine revs exceed 5500rpm. The increase in torque and power results in a slightly faster 0-100km/h time and a small bump in the car’s top speed, now a touch over 283km/h.

The Sports Pack will further improve performance through the use of upgraded springs and Bilstein shocks, as well as lightweight forged aluminum wheels. The improved handling and reduction in unsprung mass is sure to be noticed in a car of this size.

While the increase in power is not enough to bring the 4.3 litre Vantage to level-pegging with the new model, more is always better… it is isn’t it? The new upgrades are now available at Aston Martin dealers worldwide and as for price, well, you know how that goes, if you have to ask…

This is a status symbol. Quite unremarkable for what you are paying for, but I’m sure it has a nice ride and interior.

Probably has that bit of special something…. hopefully… if it doesn’t, I wouldn’t pay for it.
