Word has it that the three grainy images you see here are official shots of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The way ’official information’ is regularly leaked these days, we’ve got no reason to dispute that.
If you think you might have seen that front end before you’d be right - the new E-Class bears more than a passing resemblance to MB’s ConceptFasionation shown early in September.

If these images are accurate, the most notable change up front is the replacement of MB’s round quad-headlight setup; there are still four lights but the angular treatment changes the aesthetic markedly. The LED driving lights continue the styling theme - seems something of a trend in the premium German marques.
The side profile has been refined and now features a sweeping waist and roof-line which should provide superior rear occupant space. The rear of the car however appears a little fussy and cops the same angular lines and LED treatment seen up front. The new exhaust tips look a treat but we’re not entirely sure about the balance of the overall proportions of the boot.

Reports indicate the European E-Class will include a smorgasbord of gadgets including the ability to read road signs, monitor driver fatigue, and ’see’ in the dark. A range of engine options will be available including four, six and eight cylinder engines in both petrol and diesel.
Detroit Auto Show is only weeks away so stay tuned for the official unveiling. When the covers come off, we’ll bring you all the details on the latest E-Class and hopefully some hi-res images as well.

What is going on with Mercedes styling??
I don’t like the new direction.
C63 is the only one that works for me.
New S Class, CL Class and now E Class all look strange, especially with that fat rising waist around the rear windows and wheels.
