What do AMG, Penthouse, Johnny Walker, AC/DC and Saab have in common, aside from the ability to bring joy to a man’s life in one way shape or form? It’s the colour black…which strictly speaking isn’t really a colour but we won’t let that worry us now.

Black label, Black edition and Back in Black the album. Saab have just announced the planned unveiling in Frankfurt next month of their new Saab Turbo X, a limited edition performance car in the spirit of their classic 99/900 series “black turbos”.

The very first turbo-charged SAAB was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1977 to what must have been a stunned audience back in the day. From that day onwards turbo-charging has played a major role in the companies products.

Saab are hoping that what they term the “innovative features” of the new “Black Turbo” will also attract widespread emulation.

Saab have not been forthcoming with the Black Turbo's exact specifications but expect AWD and plenty of turbo-charged mumbo.
