2010 BMW Z4 First Picture From Movie Set

Once again, Hollywood has let the cat out of the bag, with the first picture, (untainted by camouflage paraphernalia) of the new 2010 BMW Z4 hitting the WWW overnight. The car pictured was believed to be an ‘extra’ on the set of a Michael Douglas movie. The role for the Z4 wasn’t a difficult one, it simply had to pretend to be a new car on sale at a BMW dealership.

Judging from the picture, it would seem that BMW is continuing to style out the Bangle flame-surfacing in the new models and the new Z4 is surely better for it – it looks stunning.

For 2010, the Z4 will (in addition to its good looks) feature an S-Drive electro-mechanical differential and a rather interesting, but unconfirmed, engine line-up. Word on the street is that there will be a choice of 2.0 litre, 2.5 litre, 3.0 litre engines as well as the much lauded BMW 3.0 litre twin-turbo. A 4.0 litre V8 from BMW’s M division may also be an option. We’ll have to wait a little longer for the final word on exactly what the engine range will feature, and which of those variants will be made available in Australia.

The 2010 Z4 is due to be revealed to the world on the 15th December, while its Motor Show debut remains a closely guarded secret – Detroit 2009 perhaps?

Nice! I like it so much better than that ugly shark that passes for the current Z4. Huge improvement - you can see the '10 7-series in the new headlamps, kidney grille, and leaner proportions. There's surface tension present which in and of itself puts this car lanes ahead of its bulbous predecessor.
