BMW Performance Accessories Launched, With Video Accompaniment

Perhaps disappointed with all of the aftermarket options for Bimmer owners, BMW has launched BMW Performance Accessories – an online catalogue of parts to spruce up the raciness of the range.

There are 32 parts available in the BMW Performance Accessories range, many of them with genuine performance intentions, such as six-piston brakes and cross-drilled rotors, carbon fibre strut braces, racing seats, a short-shift gear lever, light alloy wheels, and even a replacement steering wheel with an LED display for lap times, acceleration, and top speed.

Add in some carbon-fibre trimming for the interior, and you’re set.  However, you’ll need to remember the credo if you plan to go shopping - “Bring My Wallet”.

A BMW launch of any kind wouldn’t be a proper BMW undertaking without a video to mark the occasion, so put aside a few minutes and sit back.

If it’s a BMW option, chances are it’ll cost a metric crapload to buy.

I’m sure all this costs an absolute bomb but it’s a great idea, especially the brakes.

What the non-M BMWs really need though, is an LSD, and this doesn’t feature among the “Performance” accessories.

What all BMWs need are brake upgrades. Even the M cars have pissy 1 piston calipers, which tend to fade out after a hammering on the track.

If you’re not tracking your M car, you shouldn’t own one.
