Carupdate can confirm that Australian TV network SBS are looking at purchasing half of a prominent Melbourne bayside workshop to commence the shooting of a Hot Rod themed TV show. It will be similar to that of world famous Boyd Coddington’s reality TV show “American Hotrod” currently seen on Discovery.
SBS representatives have commented on being very “interested” at doing a workshop based reality TV program similar to the runaway success of the popular pay TV show.
This blogger can confirm that the proposed workshop in Melbourne has its fair share of old school muscle in the works at the moment, ranging from a nutso 1200hp ’55 Chev Coupe through to a mint ‘coach themed’ 32 Deuce coupe.
With a bit of luck the program should put Aussie streeters in the spotlight, provided SBS don’t turn it into another shocker like Channel 10’s “Drive”.
