Iconic Italian race car manufacturer and performance tuner Abarth is best known for its long association with Fiat, turning ’littlies’ - like the Fiat 500 - into high-revving scorchers.

Abarth has now recently teamed up with Yamaha to create the striking FZ1 Abarth Assetto Corse Concept Bike to celebrate the 100th birthday of Abarth founder, Karl Abarth.

Based on the popular Yamaha R1, the FZ1 is powered by a 1.0 litre derivative of the R1’s four-cylinder power-plant and produces a touch under 112kW at 11,000rpm. The naked concept also receives Abarth livery, a new Akrapovic exhaust and improvements to the suspension and brakes.

In addition to the Yamaha FZ1 concept, Abarth also released a limited edition version of the 500 Abarth and a highly stylised limited edition desktop computer to commemorate the event.

Congratulations to Abarth for achieving this milestone, here’s to another 100 years of modified mayhem.
