Jaguar C-XF Concept - A new fat cat with four doors

It seems fitting after the Audi S5 article to write briefly about another beauty. Ian Callum the world renowned performance coupe designer (think Aston Martin) has created an absolutely stunning four door saloon called the C-XF Concept.

Beautiful design. Big four door cat looks like a coupe if you squint

Introduced at the Detroit motor show it is fair to assume that this elegantly muscular Jaguar saloon will be the basis for the XF Saloon production version due in 2008. No woodgrain or lounge like chairs in site. This is what a modern Jaguar should look like. Gone are the retro links to past Jaguar models.

Hopefully the production XF looks as good as the C-XF Concept

Details are not known at this point but it would be fair to guess that Jaguar’s current V8 in either naturally aspirated or super-charged form will be available along with a six cylinder. Gearboxes will be a six-speed manual or ZF auto.

Not all is rosy for Jaguar’s parent company FoMoCo. Lets hope they are still around to fund the production version.
