Whether you love it or hate it, Porsche’s Cayenne range has been a winner for the German automaker. While many decry the lack of sporting intent evident in the lesser Cayenne models, further up the range things are anything but dull. edo Competition has now raised the bar on the mid-spec GTS model with a host of visual and performance upgrades that are sure to delight Cayenne fans.

The edo enhanced GTS is packing a solid visual punch thanks to the ‘power dome’ hood, revised front with mesh inserts and quad fog-lights and a subtle graphics package. Custom 22-inch forged wheels with stainless steel outer rims are shod with massive 295/30 rubber to complete the visual overhaul. Thankfully the painted rim-centres are optional.

From there edo turned its attention to performance with output raised from the standard GTS 298kWs to 331kWs. The extra grunt comes courtesy of upgrades to the exhaust and intake systems and a new tune on the factory ECU. The 530Nms of torque available is enough to propel the two tonne Cayenne to 100km/h in 6.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 270km/h.

Height-adjustable suspension and massive six-piston monoblack calipers combine with the prodigious rubber to hold the Cayenne, and its portly kerb-weight, in check.

We’re all for upgrades and there’s nothing on this spec-sheet that looks out of place to these eyes (well, maybe those painted rim centres). The edo Competition GTS should prove extremely useful when the driving becomes less about hauling groceries and more about making it home in time for the Carrera Cup.
