What a crazy couple of weeks for 370Z fanatics. Recently we showed you the first official images of the new Z car, and in the past week you’ve seen photos of the car surrounded by fans in Europe, and of course Nismo’s tuned version has since been revealed as well.
Now on top of all that are these images of a convertible version, which Inside Line has put together. Alas, they appear to be ‘photoshopped’ images of the camouflaged hardtop 370Z that Inside Line recently got up close and personal with. So while they’re not the real deal, they’re certainly a good indication of what we can expect to see when the cabrio is finally unveiled.
Inside Line postulates that, like the 350Z, the new Z car will feature a power-operated soft-top roof to ensure no major sacrifices are made on the weight side of things. This should also ensure that the price stays within cooee of the hardtop’s price.

Despite its ragtop roof, the 370Z convertible will still be all business. Expect a choice of either a seven-speed automatic or a six-speed manual to be offered, and the car to be powered by the same 3.7-litre VQ engine found in the Infiniti G37.
Below are the original images modified by Inside Line to bring us this great looking convertible concept.

Fantastic, that looks infinitely better than the 350z convertible.
Am I the only one who thinks the 350 and 370 should not come in convertibles?
You’re certainly not, Carmen. I definitely think the Z just doesn’t work as a convertible. The Z32 drop top looked weird, so does the Z33 convertible and now it looks like the Z34 will look equally as bizarre.
I agree. I hate it in a convertable but also realize there are those out there that like to drive with the top down. This new 370Z will almost certainly make the price of the older used 350Z’s drop to an affordable price! Can’t wait to get one! haha
Disagree guys, the convertible is real nice looking, plus if you are gonna get the car you want to be driving with the top down during the summer.
I just purchased a 2006 350Z convertible with 3200 miles on. I drove the G37X Infinity and I must say, both engines offer more than adequate horsepower and torque. I hear the gas gauge on the 370Z sticks. I think Nissan/Infinity makes a great car with great value. Buy a used one!
guys i have a 370, the gas gauge does not stick scott and it is great i i think the 370 would look ugly with a soft top but if they had a hard top i would probably get one.
It looks very good. I hope it doesn’t cost much. I know this is stupid and off topic, but I hope nissan will make a 4 door sports convertible (4DSCc) for the maxima. (hard top please) and i also heard about the altima convertible. Coupe looks bad, but the convertible looks………ummmm…… i guess……….nice. P.S. Nissan makes good, great and fast cars. Keep doin it nissan(if you know what i mean
I drive a 2008 350z convertible and love it I also had the 2006 350z convertible and loved that. In my opinion it is the best looking convertible on the road. I personally think they look funny with the hard top and love to drive with the top down in the nice weather.
