Mugen Releases Tuning Parts For 2009 Odyssey

While the 2009 Honda Odyssey sure is a damn sight better looking than the car it replaces, Honda’s in-house tuning company Mugen has decided that there’s still room for improvement, and has released its own line of aftermarket bodyparts and performance tweaks for the stylish people carrier.

On offer to the Japanese public only (or available from well-connected parts importers), Mugen’s Odyssey offerings lend the futuristic MPV an even more aggressive look, with a unique front bumper (with HID foglights) and front and rear under-spoilers as part of the “Odyssey Absolute” package (above). Sideskirts help bring the Mugen Odyssey closer to the deck, while a massive tailgate spoiler gives an illusion of performance.

Speaking of performance, Mugen doesn’t offer much in the way of go-faster bits for the Odyssey. While all of us here at TMR think a turbo kit and a set of banana-sized monoblock brake calipers would be just the thing to shake up the Odyssey’s decidedly un-sporty image, Mugen has deemed that a low-restriction exhaust system, sticky-compound brake pads, slotted rotors and slightly stiffer dampers and 20mm lower springs are all that’s needed.

There’s a few more parts available too, like braided brake lines, sports pedals and unique 17-inch alloy rims, but for the most part Mugen’s Odyssey is more mild than wild.

At least it looks pretty buff.
