Leaked 2010 Toyota Prius Images Confirmed

When new images of Toyota's 2010 model Prius hit the web there was much debate as to whether the pictures were the official shots or the result of some excellent photoshop efforts. The team over at Jalopnik have now confirmed with Toyota that the images you see here are in fact the real deal.

While Toyota's Prius might not be the stuff your dreams are made of, the new model's aesthetics are a marked improvement. Toyota has managed to do a good job of refreshing the exterior and softening the overall shape (a shape which has been described as awkward at best). Big changes can be spotted inside the cabin where the Prius has begun to take on the look and feel of a more traditional road car.

An increase in the size of the petrol and electric motors is expected to solidly improve the Prius' fuel consumption figures and range while retaining the minimal carbon footprint. The official reveal in January '09 at the Detroit motor show will provide the all-important details. Until then we rest assured that, at the very least, the next generation Toyota Prius is going to look better.

Ugh. I'm so over high hip-lines. The tiny rear wheels make it look absurd. Next styling revolution please...!
